ABOUT THE FOUNDER

about-riya-bafna-riysys

Riya Bafna graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Art from Parsons School of Design, New York - majoring in Fashion Design and minoring in Fashion Communication. Interning at over 5 fashion houses between Mumbai and New York, Riya’s design identity is heavily influenced by the urban landscapes of New York and Mumbai, a blend of vintage allure and contemporary grunge that emphasizes movement, storytelling, and the transformative power of fashion - which manifests into RIYSYS.

“While creating RIYSYS, I wanted to retain the beauty of vintage allure and contemporary grunge, and speak those narratives through our pieces and the documentation of them. We center around the concept of regarding fashion as an experience, and emphasizing movement within it."
