ANALOG
there is a time that exists, submerged in memory
where we were active observers, seeing the world vividly, yet through faded film
captured through large boxes we held in our hands
where we clicked the shutter with our index, rather than our thumb
we were mechanical through the screens
but graphically emotive outside of them
hidden were pains and secrets of the world
so that we could dance in blissful ignorance
but how addictive that blissful ignorance
leaving nothing less than nostalgia
of memories so densely bathed in sunshine
memories now embedded within poloroids, sepia films and glossy photographs
ANALOG revolves around the idea of ‘an analog past’, a time before the internet and constant connectivity. The rawness of emotion encapsulated within candid visuals, carries layers of meaning whilst remaining open to interpretation. In collaboration with artists excelling in film, photography, and animation; we’ve curated an experience reminiscent of the late 90’s and early 2000’s - the age of film - when ideas were pure and powerful, embraced for their simplicity and authenticity.
At RIYSYS, we focus on the idea of fashion storytelling. How do we explore our identities and narrate our self concept culturally and individually? By using design and fashion as a tool to emote and experience, we blur the lines between the imagined and our reality.
As our first pop-up, ANALOG is designed to immerse you in what truly means to experience fashion.

SIDDHIKSHA RANA
ESCAPISM THROUGH FASHION
Siddhiksha Rana is a visual storyteller— photographer, cinematographer, and stylist— who draws inspiration from the poetry of the everyday. Her work captures the beauty in the mundane, reframing ordinary moments through a lens of wonder. She believes that shifting your gaze, altering the mindset
from which you observe, can transform the simplest scenes into something extraordinary. Her vibrant essence radiates through her craft, woven with maximalist elements and a nostalgic thread, especially within her film photography. The idea of "escapism through fashion" is not just a motif in her art, but a guiding philosophy she lives by, using style as a vehicle for transcending the ordinary.

What do you learn when you take a step away from your daily environment? How does it feel to have a momentary escape? Does it alter the trajectory of everything else to come? Can it change time? There were five people who experienced the place you are about to see, together. They remained in immediate proximity to each other, encountering the same environment and surroundings, and frequently sharing their thoughts with each other. Yet, their perception will render different versions of these collective experiences. I am one of those five, the one you will not see; instead, I am embodied as the lens through which you will view this documentation; a ‘b-roll’ of this time.
This piece is dedicated to my friends, who I shared this journey with. The thoughts, questions, ideas, and statements showcased in this film are what ran through my mind; as I took these photographs. I have let you glance inside my mind, by simultaneously illustrating my internal and external experiences. You may resonate with them, or find them completely distant. Either way, this was my record of this time, and what a time it was.
RIYA BAFNA
I FILM TO REMEMBER
Riya Bafna is a fashion product designer
and the founder of RIYSYS. She uses an interdisciplinary strategy towards her work by combining different fields of study to drive original ideas. Her work is based on designing products and creating the art of experience.
Memories stay dynamic, fading through time. Simplicity is a product of the past, and we collect remnants of it to remember that it was. Places depict a life frozen in time Timeless, as most travelers would say. People allow us to embody lives of many others - our past selves, screaming in memory. I film to remember moments, which would otherwise remain fleeting - so that I can live through them over and over again.
